Rawle dissects a page of his book

I found this article online and I thought it was pretty cool so I put the link here. Its an article from New York Magazine in which Graham Rawle takes a page of his book and explains where he got the word clippings, etc. Other people might have come across this too, but I figured I'd share it anyway.

  1. Thanks for posting this!

It was really interesting reading about how he made the book, and where certain words came from. It also answered my question on whether any fragments in the magazine might have influenced his writing, as with the phrase "measured in nautical miles."

  2. Wow! I just looked at this and it was awesome! I was wondering how he managed to find all these words and such, but quite smart of him to put it in a filing system. I wonder if he was able to have the very detailed descriptions of make up and fashion because they were found in the magazines and therefore, he himself didn't necessarily have to consult his wife or whoever regarding these details.

  3. I wonder how a movie adaptaion of this book would be made.

This article or at least the picture of the page shows the difference this novel would have it if were printed in color.
